Matched Pair of Octagonal Italianate Mirrors

MIA091

A matched pair of octagonal Italianate wall mirrors, likely 18th to 19th century. Each has a deeply carved, gilded acanthus-scroll frame in worn antique gold, set around eight blue glass panels painted with gilt foliage. The mirror plates look old, with foxing and silvering loss. There is some chipping and loss to the carved edges, mainly on the right-hand mirror, and a faint seam in the bottom border of the left one. They're a close pair rather than identical twins.

-Please note the damage is being restored.
