Framed Orange Ewe Textile from Togo Ghana

Ewe Strip-Woven Cloth, Ghana or Togo, Mid-20th Century

A hand-woven Ewe strip cloth made from narrow loom-woven bands sewn edge to edge in staggered blocks. The stripes are crimson, maroon and slate-blue, with cream, peach, mint and mustard accents. Orange supplementary-weft dashes and olive and gold inlay panels add texture. Mounted on a board and ready to hang. Good condition, with a small hole to the upper right and light fraying at the edges.
