Tall Copper Measuring Jug

A tall cylindrical copper jug, likely French, 19th century, with a riveted and soldered strap handle. The interior retains its original tin lining, now attractively worn, and the rim is finished with a rolled edge. Good weight and gauge of copper with a warm, naturally aged patina to the exterior and verdigris traces to the handle. Would originally have served as a dairy or wine measure. A handsome piece with strong form, equally at home holding flowers or displayed alone.
