Syrian Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid Two-Tier Side Table

A late 19th/early 20th century Levantine side table in carved walnut, with mother-of-pearl star inlay. The top is finely carved with scrolling arabesques and a central calligraphic medallion, centred on a larger inlaid star and four smaller stars at the corners. A mashrabiya-style frieze of turned spindles sits beneath, with geometric carved borders throughout. The lower tier has a carved diamond panel with more pearl stars, and the carved legs flare gently outwards. Good colour and patina, with the usual signs of age and wear.
