Regency Pine Side Table with Faux Bamboo Legs and Two Drawers

A charming early 19th century pine side table or desk, with the warm honeyed colour of old waxed pine. The rectangular top has a slightly overhanging, moulded edge and the soft wear that comes with age and use. Below it are two frieze drawers, each lined with a fine black edge and fitted with turned ebonised knobs. The table stands on slender legs turned to imitate bamboo, a favourite Regency detail that gives the piece a light, elegant look. At a good height and depth for a desk, it would also work well as a hallway console, a side table or a small dressing table.
