Pair of Italian Rattan Daybeds, Attributed to Tito Agnoli, c. 1950s-60s

A matching pair of single daybeds in bamboo and rattan cane, in the manner of Tito Agnoli's work. Each frame has a low, sweeping profile. The curved side rails rise at the head to a shaped back, and the sides and back are filled with an open rhythm of looped, figure-eight cane scrolls. The tubular bamboo frames are joined with tightly wrapped cane binding, and each rests on a sculptural, sled-like base of bowed, curving supports.

The warm honey tone suggests an unstained or lightly varnished finish, and the pair works well in a bedroom, a guest room or a sunroom. Each bed is sold as a frame only, as shown with wooden slats to act as a base. Bespoke Mattresses will need to be ordered.
