Ornate Rococo-Style Picture Frame in Grey-Painted Finish

A decorative wood and composition picture frame in the French Rococo taste, with shaped breakfront corners and a scrolling foliate and strapwork design running the length of each side. The frame has been finished in a soft grey-taupe paint with distressed, rubbed-back highlights that reveal warm ochre tones beneath, giving an aged, atmospheric quality. The sight edge has a clean gadrooned inner moulding painted in a contrasting off-white/cream.

A versatile piece, equally suited to housing a mirror plate, oil painting, or as a decorative object leant against a wall in its own right.
