Large Antique Suzani Wall Hanging, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Late 19th Century

It's a large antique silk-embroidered suzani from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, late 19th century. Two big roundels sit on a deep red ground: a dense garden of stars and flowers on the left and a bold eight-pointed star on the right. A yellow star border frames them, and the palette is madder red, mustard, teal and indigo. It's worked in silk chain stitch and couching on a handwoven, strip-joined ground. Condition is good, with strong colour, some light fading and staining, a few small losses and uneven edges.
