French Ebonised Bureau de Dame, Directoire Period, circa 1795-1804
A fine ebonised writing table from the Directoire period, with original tan leather top, tooled and divided into three panels. Fitted with three brass-strung drawers, the central drawer retaining its original key and tassel. Raised on slender fluted tapering legs with brass collars and toe caps. Leather original throughout, with attractive age-related patina and wear.
