Exquisite Italian Handmade Marquetry Box

A really exquisite Italian marquetry box. This ancient intarsio (wood inlay/marquetry) process was developed to do the large doors of all the Duomos in Italy. This process is now used  modern show stopping designs. Very unique, one of a kind piece with a delicate floral repeat pattern. Inside there is 2 compartments in ivory velvet. It would make a great jewellery or keep sake box.
