Antique Anglo-Indian Octagonal Folding Table with Brass Inlay
Hoshiarpur manner, with an octagonal top inlaid in brass and pewter. A central star medallion of scrolling foliage is framed by ebonised and stringing lines and a densely inlaid floral border. The frieze panels carry small sprigs of inlay, and the table stands on eight legs joined by cusped Moorish arches and stretchers. The legs are hinged, allowing the table to fold flat. Made in a warm, richly patinated hardwood, probably sheesham. Some wear, small losses to the inlay and minor surface marks to the top, consistent with age.
