The lid retains its original lock hasp and sturdy iron hinges, and the front has an escutcheon for the lock. Inside the lid is a period inscription in ink reading "1902, H. Scott (?), Sturry Court, Sturry, Kent", an appealing piece of provenance. The top shows faint scribed marks, and the whole carries a rich, well-worn patina with the scratches and wear of honest age.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0049/7854/0662/files/E45E3DAF-6B28-404E-A0DA-AD5807CAEBA9.jpg?v=1792231821
https://littentreeantiques.com/products/antique-teak-strongbox-with-iron-bound-corners-and-inscribed-lid
